As a community-based organization, the Corporation aims to ensure that the seven-person board of directors is comprised of members with diverse professional skills and experience. The role of the board of directors is to provide strategic guidance and support to the CEO and staff who manage the day-to-day operations and oversee the management of port assets.

The board of directors are nominated by various entities as outlined in the Corporation’s operating by-laws. Once appointed, each board member serves a fixed term of four years. The governing directors are appointed by four bodies as follows:

• City of Corner Brook
• Greater Corner Brook Board of Trade
• Government of Newfoundland and Labrador
• Corner Brook Port Corporation
